GenSan.

Just thought I’d let you in on my recent adventure with the Lord :)

A Filipino pastor friend of mine invited me weeks ago to minister/sing at this huge gathering of communities and churches in Gen. Santos City in Mindanao (rebel/terrorist-infested part of the Philippines) on December 21, and I couldn’t commit to go because I had no idea how to afford the fare and such.

Last week, a friend from Oklahoma came and I was taking her around Manila… we were talking about another friend who was going to GenSan to minister at the same gathering, and she was surprised to learn that I was supposed to go but can’t.. so she went ahead and paid for my round trip ticket! The less expensive airline (Cebu Pacific) was fully booked, so we had no choice but put me in the best local airline (Philippine Airlines)… and I was already on my way to GenSan! How awesome is that? No doubt that I was meant to go, He really made a way.

So I got to go to an awesome place in my own country where I’ve never been to before, ate awesome food and met amazing people… heard more stories from people who have gone through so much and held on to Him and His promises (more material for my book), AND… I got to minister through my music. One of the songs I sang, He gave to me 4 years ago and hasn’t been played in public, ever. I just knew right then and there, it was the perfect time to sing it in public. I knew God was going to minister to them through that song. I tell you that part was so SURREAL. I felt like I couldn’t accept their applause, because I knew I sounded good, but only because He was there. On my own I don’t.

The Holy Spirit moved so mightily as my friend ministered with his wife, healings all over the place and people were certainly touched by His glory and Presence. I’m still waiting for my friend to upload pics and vids (that I took, was kinda the videographer for a while).

I was supposed to lead worship at the Sunday Service, but in the end I couldn’t because I was wearing pants and didn’t bring a skirt or dress with me… yes they’re the type of denomination/church that won’t allow women to minister in front without a skirt or dress. Personally I think it’s baloney, but I guess that comes with dealing with culture and tradition.

And I know that all this was really orchestrated by God… gained new connections, divine appointments… more doors opening… vision getting bigger… He is just SO GOOD.

Whew. so that’s basically what happened. :) I’ll blog about the details when my head’s on straight again… everything’s still surreal, like I’m still in a dream!

I love Him so! All for Him!
